Julie AllisonTexture and pattern have long been part of Julie’s life as an interior decorator and artist. For her, Zentangle is the one artistic and relaxing element which lends itself well to all of her preferred art media. She has twice been able to combine design and Zentangle to create the Annapolis Film Festival Film Makers’ VIP lounge design at a major Annapolis hotel. Not a day goes by without her either tangling for pleasure or creating new lesson plans for upcoming classes. Julie has taught a variety of groups; from children, military veterans, care-givers, the infirm, Parkinson’s disease sufferers and winery groups to college classes and more.
Julie takes her Art with her and includes him in as many Zentangle adventures as he is able to attend as co-teacher, picker-upper and putter-downer! She suffers from her newly-named affliction, TDD – techno deficit disorder - and appreciates Art’s techie abilities to help make classes run smoother! Maria Vennekins, CZTBio

Art Patterns and relaxation create just the space for Art (no pun intended). Zentangle is the great escape from the doldrums of being a program manager. I certified at CZT 20 and co-teach with Julie whenever I can. I have co-taught both adults and kids and enjoy it all. I come from a family of teachers, was an instructor in the military for 15 years so that environment seems like a second home. Zentangle and Zentangle Inspired Art make it easy to find meaning well beyond the class and the actual art created Terri Young, CZT
