A little about me...

I'm Elaine Huffman. I have a BFA from the Univeristy of Massachusetts, I'm a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT), and Toastmasters CC. The Pleasant Valley Quilting name is a carryover from my first studio (which was indeed located in a pleasant valley)! I use this name for my machine quilting books, handbag patterns, and quilting patterns. I use the Sew Tangled name for my fuzion of quilting and tangle designs.

A lifelong sewer, I have been a quilter for over 25 years and  a longarm machine quilter since 1997. I have quilted thousands of customer quilts. My classes are lively, entertaining, and information packed and have been enjoyed by machine quilting students since my debut at MQX in 2006.

I have authored two machine quilting books “Bread and Butter Quilting” and “Crisscross Dancing Feathers”.

Pleasant Valley Quilting offers contemporary bag and quilt patterns. My patterns are fun, up-to-date, and fashionable. The bag patterns feature “quilted or not” options that allow the maker to customize her bag, her way!

I have been published in Professional Quilter, Better Homes and Gardens Quilt Sampler, Quilt, McCalls Quilting, McCalls Quick Quilts. Elaine’s quilting has been shown widely in quilt shows and she placed Third at Vermont Quilt Festival and has exhibited with Lori Stubbs at the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum.

I am a Certified Zentangle Instructor and enjoys sharing m passion for Zentangle both on paper and in quilts!

I live in Longmeadow Massachusetts with my husband, daughter, and dog.
