Pleasant Valley Quilting is located in Longmeadow, Massachusetts - a small New England town in Western Massachusetts. Elaine Huffman is the owner and quilter. Pleasant Valley Quilting first opened its doors in 1997 in Granby, Connecticut, it then moved to Enfield, Connecticut before moving to its current location in 2001.
Most recently Elaine has published a book "Bread and Butter Quilting - Fast and Easy Custom Looks for Quilts". This book is the first in a series of books that gives a quilter fast and easy freehand designs for quilts. The books are written for the short - mid - or longarm quilter.
Elaine has also started a series of patterns which use prequilted fabric for the construction. The fabric can be purchased prequilted or quilted by the maker. The first pattern in the series, "Show Off Tote Bag", is fun, easy, and includes instructions for the tote in 3 sizes.
Elaine has sewed since she was a girl. She has been a quilter for over 24 years and a professional longarm quilter since 1997. As a professional quilter, Elaine has quilted thousands of customer quilts. Her quilts and customer quilts have won numerous ribbons at the local and regional level and a 3rd at the Vermont Quilt Festival.
Elaine's professional quilting career has included teaching quilting and sewing to adults and children at local quilt shops and community centers. She's been on the faculty at Machine Quilter's Exposition since 2006. In 2008 she debuts at Innovations.
Elaine's quilting has been published in McCall's Quilting, Better Homes and Gardens Quilt Sampler, Quilt magazine, and most recently was the cover on McCall's Quick Quilts. Elaine's quilting has been displayed in the Classic Cottons booth at Quilt Market. Elaine's quilting for Lori Stubbs was displayed at the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum in 2005. Elaine was interviewed for an article in Professional Quilter magazine on Marketing a Machine Quilting Business.
